Frozen ground stirs deep within–
A seed once planted breaking free.
The growth of new found life begins
As your waters pour over me.
Even in the deepest winter
You sustained the life below.
It seemed the storm would last forever,
But spring will come soon, I know.
That flood had risen o’er my head.
I gasped for my last breath of air.
Remembering the words you said–
Your promises became my prayers.
When I felt all had been lost,
The dove descended on my soul.
A reminder of who covered the cost,
The only one who makes me whole.
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.
For I am the LORD your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
Because you are precious in my eyes,
and honored, and I love you.”
