Stories from Battle: I

A casualty in the battle
Dignity dismantled

Why should I expect an army
To hold fire while I pass by?

I hold my head high
I keep my mouth shut tight

After the battlefield has cleared
I lay helpless with every tear

Tending to my wounds alone
No! There is another One

He heals!
He heals!
He heals!

I am a rare bird.
When will I fly again?
