a visit

I already mentioned my parents celebrated 40 years of marriage in June. What an accomplishment! What a joy! They travelled through New England for their Anniversary Trip. Of course their journey began [and ended] in Boston! We ate at EvooΒ their first weekend. Then, we walked around Castle Island in Southie.

We also saw this monument to the Bruins — Stanley Cup Champions!

Two weeks later they were back for just one night and half day. We cooked pizzas at home and took them to Jamaica Plain for sandwiches and sodas at City Feed and Supply. On our way home, we had a whim to visit Fort Hill. Behold the beauty.

This is when Robert and I decided to search for apartments in the area! We went straight home and searched Craigslist for something in our [small] budget. I think it was more than coincidence that there was a quaint one bedroom available in September! The next day we went to view our future home and paid our first month’s rent–we weren’t going to let it get away! It is right across from this beautiful, quiet park on the hill.

I look forward to reading under the giant willow trees in the afternoon or picnics on the grass.

Working full time sure helps me appreciate moments like these.

I must conclude because in a few minutes some friends will stop by for a visit.

Summer at its best.
