i almost didn’t make it this week, but archer pooped three times at 5 am. so here we are an hour later bringing you the best in indie folk music.
robert works with a local musician at the cafe, and i finally pulled up their website yesterday. all members are homegrown from massachusetts, which is hard to find. boston is such a diverse and transient city so i’m happy to find a true local band. they are called the novel ideas, and you can download their album for free on their website!
it’s folky, but not too twangy. great vocal harmonies and pickin’ on the guitar. each song is slightly unique in sound, but all are cohesive to the album. track 2, back and forth, reminds me of nickel creek.
i’ll feature a simple song called saint marie. it’s about moving on. click here for the lyrics.
