psalm

My sweet Abba,
Who protects me and holds me close
is a jealous Lover,
Who pursues me and wins my heart.

His name is I AM
and He brings justice to His people.

Say what you want about me,
but my Savior knows my sin.
In his abounding love,
He forgives and covers it all.

Faithful endurance will produce character.
Character will produce Hope.
Hope will not put me to shame.
I will endure all this and more
as long as I may still commune with my Creator.

Worthy is the Christ
Acquainted with grief,
A man of great sorrows.
His sacrifice brings peace.
In moments of trouble, He did not open His mouth.
They called Him a liar, yet there was no deceit in Him.
The Righteous One intercedes and makes more righteous.

How much more will He save me?
To the ends of the earth will He follow my wanderings.
How much more will He love me?
He will love me everlasting to everlasting.
How much more will He protect me?
The fortress of His name will never crumble.
How much more will He heal me?
Through His Life I will be made whole.

Amen.

“Would we know that the major chords were sweet,
If there were no minor key?
Would the painter’s work be fair to our eyes,
Without shade on land or sea?
“Would we know the meaning of happiness,
Would we feel that the day was bright,
If we’d never known what it was to grieve,
Nor gazed on the dark of night?”
